Dad passed away peacefully on April 24th at Royal Jubilee Hospital after a short illness.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife Lanie, as well as his brothers Vic and Mel, sister-in-law Shirley, and nephews Dean and Don.

He is survived by his children, Teresa, David (Shannon) and Todd (Na'ama) and his grandchildren Jessica, Ryan, Elizabeth, Danielle, Steven, Ben, Ethan and Aviv as well as great-grandchildren Hannah and James. He is also survived by his brothers Terry (Lynne) and Dennis, sisters Lucille (Clay) and Marilyn (Henry) and sister in laws Wynn and Mary, as well as mom's family including Debbie (Mark) and Jim (Louise).

Dad was born to Anton and Rose in Macklin Saskatchewan, but grew up in Grindrod BC. Our parents were high-school sweethearts, and were married for 52 years. Dad graduated from Gonzaga University and worked as a civil engineer for his whole career at Emil Anderson Construction, retiring as Chief Engineer. Projects took them to various parts of the province including Golden and Sooke, eventually settling back in Hope BC where they had many friends and happy memories.

They retired to Victoria in 2000 and got to take some great trips and enjoy life in James Bay. He was a wonderfully caring husband to mom, and provided a lot of care and support when she fell ill in her later years. Dad was a quiet generous supporter of numerous charities and he was a strong advocate for fairness and doing the right thing.

We couldn't have asked for a better Dad.
