HEDLUND, William Gordon

Mr. William 'Bill' Gordon Hedlund passed away on April 8, 2008 at the Fraser Hope Lodge in Hope, B.C. at the age of 91 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Frieda and sister, Signe.

Bill is survived by his loving family: children, Addie (Cliff), John (Cheryl) and Gord (Lisa); 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Bill was a member of the Canadian Foresters, Hope Ratepayers Association, Hope Brigade Days, Canyon Golden Agers Club and Lunch with the Bunch. Bill enjoyed music and played the guitar, accordion and organ. During the 60's he played in a band alongside Al Staley and Jim Fontaine. He also enjoyed swimming at Kawkawa Lake and fly fishing in his younger years. Bill really enjoyed jamming at the Station House as well.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church with Father John Tritschler as Celebrant. A Burial followed the Service at Mountainview Cemetery, Hope, B.C. Refreshments were provided by the CWA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the F.H.L. Courtyard Project, c/o Fraser Canyon Hospice Society, 1275 7th Avenue, Hope, BC V0X 1L0 ATTN: Pat Besse in memory of Bill.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all those kind enough to provide rides to events for Dad when he could no longer drive, the staff of the Fraser Hope Lodge and the Doctors and staff of the Murakami clinic.
