Bill passed away suddenly on Feb. 9 at the age of 91. He was born and raised in Steinbach MB. He was predeceased by Mary, his wife of 49 yrs. They moved to BC in 1951, working in the construction industry with Mary helping alongside. They had three children together. He was married to his second wife Irene for 17 yrs. They both enjoyed playing Gospel music in many venues in Langley. Bill drove his Honda trike for many years travelling throughout BC. They moved to Hope in 2011 to a rancher with a workshop and garden. He pulled a row of large trees with the car like a truck!! His jokes sometimes left one to ponder. He loved his little church and loved searching out the gems found in the Bible. Many of his friends were gone but he found many new friends in Hope. Bill always acted younger than his chronicle age. He drove across Canada, sky dived, took a helicopter ride, swam weekly and exercised to keep in shape.
He leaves to mourn him his wife Irene, son Bruce (Chris), daughters Deb (Terry) Elliott, and Val Radcliffe, brother Abe (Laurie) and sisters Susan (Abe) Rempel and Viola (Hank) Remple, stepchildren Dan (Sandy) Desharnais, Claudette (Troi) Darwel, Roxanne Windall and David (Tanya) Desharnais. Also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held March 8th at 1 pm at the Mount Hope Seventh-Day Adventist church. 1300 Ryder St. Hope, BC
In lieu of flowers Bill's favorite charity was ADRA, a global humanitarian arm of the Adventist church this month contributions with the Canada Food Bank is doubling offerings.
