Legion Week was kick started by 25 golfers who came out to brave the rainy weather and play in the Legion’s annual golf tournament held at the Hope Golf Club on Saturday, June 16.
Despite the bad weather and some of the holes being under water and unplayable, a good time was had by all. A steak dinner was held downstairs in the Legion after the tournament, with Dave Flexhaug being the master chef and Tammy Bremner preparing the rest of the dinner.
After everyone was fed, the prizes were awarded to the following: first place winners were Bob Jones and Chris Manahan, long drive went to Allan Trick and Tammy Shields, closest to the pin went to June Lowe and Allan Trick, and the most honest golfers (for their creative scoring) were Pat and Mike Pelletier and Bob Megale. Congratulations to Melvin Smith, winner of our seventh annual barbecue raffle. Thanks to all who bought tickets.
