It was an exciting moment for Sherri Forman and Nick Clelland when they squeaked out the first place win, beating out Vernon’s Lincoln Lanes team by just 13 points.

As the provincial tournament champions, Forman and Clelland each won a trip for two to beautiful Hawaii.

Forman and Clelland first had to score the win in the house rounds to be able to go on to compete at the regional tournament held in Abbotsford. Forman and Clelland again took first place beating out two Abbotsford teams which placed second and third in the regional competition.

On Feb. 18, Forman and Clelland travelled to Chase, B.C., and competed against 18 other B.C. teams at the Village Lanes Fun Centre. Again, they fought hard in their five games, managing to take the first place position with 303 points over average. Vernon’s Lincoln Lanes team took second place in the competition with 290 points over average.

The tournament winners had the choice of taking the trip or cash. Opting for the trip, Forman and Clelland are planning to travel to Hawaii with their chosen guests in the fall and take advantage of their first-place prize of airfare and seven-day hotel accommodation.

They’re both looking forward to some well-deserved rest and relaxation in the warm Hawaiian sun and sand.
