Chilliwack Chiefs alum Nikita Nesterenko is enjoying an outstanding rookie campaign in the NCAA Div 1 hockey ranks.

The Boston College freshman has just been named the Rookie of the Week in the Hockey East Conference after helping his Eagles to a 5-3 win over Merrimack last weekend.

Nesterenko had a goal and an assist in the triumph, scoring the winner with four minutes remaining in the game.

The 19-year-old Minnesota Wild draft pick (sixth round, 172nd overall in 2019) has collected at least one point in seven of 10 games this season and has five goals and 10 points overall.

The New York product led the Chiefs in scoring last year in his lone season in the BCHL and finished third among all rookies with 56 points in 56 games.
