Reynolds previously played for the CEBL’s Guelph Nighthawks in 2019 and 2020. He averaged 16.7 points, 5.8 assists and 3.2 rebounds in nine games in 2019, highlighted by a career-high 25 points against the Bandits at the Abbotsford home opener back on May 9, 2019.

He averaged 9.8 points and four rebounds per game during the 2020 Summer Series.

“I’m excited to join the Fraser Valley Bandits family,” Reynolds stated in a press release. “I say ‘family’ because you can see the culture that has been built here from last season and I’m looking forward to being a part of that.”

Reynolds headed south to play basketball at the college level, suiting up for Mott Community College in Flint, Mich. from 2012 to 2014. He then transferred to the Buffalo-based Canisius College, which is an NCAA Division I program and played for the Golden Griffins for two seasons.

Reynolds averaged 6.2 points 5.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.8 steals per game over 65 games played for Canisius (60 as a starter).

He went on to play two seasons for the Cape Breton Highlanders of the National Basketball League of Canada and played professionally in Spain in 2019.

“We are really excited to have Jamal join our grind,” stated Bandits general manager Kyle Julius in a press release. “I have known Jamal personally for a long time and he is exactly what we are looking for in a person and a player to enhance our culture of toughness and resilience. Jamal has a special motor and has the ability to play and defend multiple positions. He will be a fan favorite in the valley.”

Reynolds and the Bandits are now scheduled to open the 2021 CEBL season on June 24, with the home opener set for June 26. For more on the team, visit thebandits.ca.
