The Chilliwack Chiefs have added a new player to the mix for 2022-23, getting a commitment from Langley product Darius Bachler.

The righty-shooting 2005-born forward is with the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds U18 team this season, where he’s produced five goals and 12 points in 14 games. Listed at five-foot-11 and 165 pounds on his eliteprospects.com profile, the teenager brings a blend of size, speed, skill and physicality to next year’s Chiefs’ roster.

“Darius was one of the best players on the ice in our spring camp this past season.” said Chilliwack associate coach and assistant GM Brad Rihela. “It was evident then, and in watching him play this season, that he is a player that will be able to step in and help us next season with his well-rounded, responsible game.”
