Rough road conditions Thursday night, continue with freezing rain and snow

A video posted to the Facebook group Fraser Valley Road Reports shows the rough condition of Highway 1 between Agassiz and Hope Thursday night as the Fraser Valley continues to get hit with freezing rain and snow.

Thousands of people across the region woke up without power this morning. While Mission and Abbotsford have been hardest hit, some Agassiz and Harrison residents have reported outages and flickering.

Freezing rain began in the region Thursday morning and is expected to continue all day today.

According to the latest update from Environment Canada, Agassiz can expect a combination of freezing rain and snow until mid-day tomorrow.

In Hope, residents are dealing with continuous snowfall, with 30 cm expected between Friday and Saturday.
