Hope Mountain Centre is holding a Rivers Day Clean Up at Peers Creek this Saturday, Sept. 25.

The event begins at 10 a.m. at the western gateway of the HBC Trail. Volunteers will be picking up garbage in the area and trucking it to the Hope Waster Transfer Station.

Volunteers are asked to let Hope Mountain Centre know if they are attending, so they can plan for enough supplies. They are bringing lunch, disposable gloves, garbage bags and tools.

Voluntters need to bring water, snacks, boots, and a change of clothes for changing weather. They are also hoping some volunteers will come in pick-up trucks to help haul away the garbage bags.

The group is meeting at 10 a.m. at the trailhead, which is 10 km east of Hope on Highway 5, at Exit 183. From there, drive 1.5 km on Peers Creek Forest Service Road.

For directions, more information and to let them know you’re joining them, visit www.hopemountain.org or call 604-869-1274.
