The first annual Women of Distinction Awards held by the Hope and Area Transition Society (HATS) on Monday, Mar. 11 was a success.
After putting it forward to the community to nominate local women of distinction, the Society was inundated with dozens of nominations that netted more than 30 nominations, however, five women were singled out as winners of the award.
This year, Diane Ferguson, Pauline Svensrud, Jill Last, Katherine Freimark, and Stephanie Hooker each won a Women of Distinction award.
The Hope Secondary School band and Silver Hope Dance Academy provided the evening’s entertainment, and Tammy Shields was the keynote speaker.
