Local foundation gearing up for Nashville Nights gala set for Oct. 21

The Crystal Gala Foundation held a sponsor recognition event at Bakerview Farm in Abbotsford on Sept. 13.

Organizers are gearing up for this year’s gala, with the theme of Nashville Nights, and the sponsor event reflected that in every detail. The event included a live performance by singer songwriter Ryan McAllister.

The foundation is a grassroots team of volunteers who have been raising money for more than 20 years to support breast cancer patients through early detection and treatment. They have raised more than $3.6 million to date, and their gala is their main event.

That’s coming up on Oct. 21, and is an opportunity for supporters of every level to celebrate their collective achievements.

Donors include everyone from bake sale organizers to corporate sponsorships, and those who support by coming to the gala. Those who donate $1,000 or more are acknowledged with a permanent plaque at the Crystal Gala Breast Health Centre in the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre. That wall was unveiled earlier this year and is just one of the many ways the foundation honours their partners.

The annual gala is a very formal affair, and known to be one of the best fundraising events in the region.
