With over 100 homes registering, when a few dozen or so normally do, the annual Christmas lights contest has Hope shining extra bright this year. Here are photos of just a few of the homes dekked out for the holiday season.

A list of participating streets and route maps can be found at hopebc.ca, and residents can vote on their favourite street until Dec. 27 online or at the visitors centre.

Homes on the following streets have been decked out for the contest:

Downtown Hope/Junction District: Allison Ave., Dewdney Ave., Douglas St., Fort St., Fraser Ave., Hope St., Park St., Queen St., Stuart St., Water Ave., Willow St., 4 Ave., 7 Ave.

Kawkawa Lake: Cottonwood Dr., Dogwood Dr., Gordon Dr., Kettle Valley Pl., Kettle Valley Pl., Mallard Dr., Mountain Ash Dr., Park Ave., Summer Rd., Swallow Pl.

Silver Creek: Beacon Rd., Flood Hope Rd., Marie St., Silverhope Rd.

When viewing the lights, organizers ask that people avoid socializing or gathering in groups, even outside. And those who are voting shouldn’t enter anyone’s property. Also stick to your household bubble when you are out viewing the lights, whether in a vehicle or walking.

For those who may be from outside Hope and want to come view the lights, organizers are encouraging people not to engage in any non-essential travel.
