SLIDESHOW: Hope Legion recognizes veterans on Remembrance Day

Officials and dignitaries lay wreaths as respectful public watches from afar

Remembrance Day was a quiet, solemn affair in Hope this year.

A small number of veterans attended the ceremony, along with officials and dignitaries. The public kept their distance, surrounding the cenotaph loosely, physically distancing as requested by the Hope Legion.

A collection of items left on the cenotaph earlier this year were removed, and will be replaced in the near future. They include teddy bears and shoes left in honour of the 215 children thought to be buried in a Kamloops residential school.

Hope photographer Bill Dobbs captured some of the ceremony with his camera for the Hope Standard.
