Brigitte Hollmann and Janet Rigby have been students of Cathy Davis at the Art Machine for several years. They have been studying different techniques and styles, most recently that of Canada’s Group of Seven landscapes. These works will be featured Oct. 1 to 28 in the Hope Arts Gallery.
Brigitte will also be showing her latest pottery creations; the most endearing being her Germanic mythology inspired forest houses. Janet will add photographs of wild places in British Columbia.
Cathy joins in with her latest acrylic wildlife paintings. For something a little different, all her paintings in this show will be on reclaimed wood and cedar boards. Natural grains and knots create a rustic background for moose, otter, owls and other creatures with which we are fortunate to share our forests.
Please join us and meet the artists at the Hope Arts Gallery, 349 Fort St., Hope, B.C. for the exhibit opening on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 12 to 2 p.m.
The gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is operated by the Hope and District Arts Council and run by volunteers.
