Mountain Institution staff seized more than $130,000 worth of contraband during a recent search .
Over the course of two days, the contraband seized included 184 grams of cannabis concentrate and 94 grams of methamphetamine. The total institutional value was $139,000.
The RCMP has been notified and Correctional Service Canada (CSC) is investigating.
“CSC uses a number of tools to prevent drugs from entering its institutions. These tools include ion scanners and drug-detector dogs to search buildings, personal property, inmates, and visitors,” the CSC stated. “The CSC is heightening measures to prevent contraband from entering its institutions in order to help ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone.”
