Environment Canada is issuing a special weather statement for the Coquihalla Highway, Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton and the TransCanada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass.
Significant snowfall is expected for the mountain passes starting on Saturday, intensifying throughout Sunday and tapering off Monday.
According to Environment Canada, a large low-pressure system is set to bring significant snowfall, which will accumulate rapidly across the highway passes. Snow levels will also lower to near the valley bottom in the wake of the cold front associated with this low, stated Environment Canada.
It is possible blowing snow could occur across the region in wind-prone areas.
Be prepared to adjust your driving to changing road conditions. Check DriveBC.ca for highway updates.
