Silver Creek Elementary hosts their first ever Inclusion Fair next Thursday (Nov. 3).

The fair, which is taking place in the Silver Creek Elementary gym, is a free event for students and families living with disabilities. From afternoon till evening, people will be able to visit many different vendors, all who have been invited to showcase the different services available. This includes Canucks Autism Network, Services to Adults with Developmental Disabilities (STADD), the Family Support Institute of BC, Work BC, Society for Community Living, and Fraser Valley Child Developmental Centres.

“We want to show students [and families living with disabilities] what services are available to them,” says Meagan Hodgson, the District Complex Needs Inclusive Education Teacher. “It’s not common knowledge…And we’re hoping that when we bring these services to families, they can see we have a lot that’s available to [them].”

Aside from the vendors, door prizes will also be available to those who attend. The event is drop-in (no registration required) and it’s from 3:30 p.m.to 6:00 p.m.
