UFV celebrates 50th anniversary with History in the Making exhibit

Student research brings university history to life on Friday (March 1)

The University of the Fraser Valley’s History in the Making exhibit was just one of many events that are planned to mark the schools 50th anniversary.

Students from political science, communications, computer information systems, agriculture, arts, sociology, geography, and media and visual arts participated in the project with help from professors.

“We are all stewards of UFV’s legacy,” vice-president of community engagement Susan Mide Kiss said. “We are united in our commitment to shaping a future that honours the past, while embracing the possibilities of tomorrow.”

The public event was held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m where students and faculty discussed their work, with many of the projects having been completed during last semester.

”I’m really honoured to have been part of this project,” UFV manager of communications and media Anne Russell said. “It involves a new generation preserving and amplifying our stories in new ways.”
