Health authorities reported a second outbreak at Agassiz Seniors Community. According to a joint statement from provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Minister of Health Adrian Dix on Friday (Dec. 11) afternoon, one resident and three staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.
The outbreak is one of three announced during Friday’s COVID-19 update, the others being Hilton Villa Seniors Community and St. Michael’s Centre.

On Friday, there were another 737 diagnosed cases of COVID-19 with 11 additional deaths. B.C.’s death toll has reached 598, largely elderly people and those with other health conditions.
According to new data from the B.C. Centres for disease control, Agassiz-Harrison saw nine cases between Nov. 29 and Dec. 5; the communities are not as badly impacted as other cities in the eastern Fraser Valley. Abbotsford saw 352 new cases, Chilliwack 140 and Mission 45.
