Chilliwack home invasion leaves one man injured

42-year-old left with non-life-threatening injuries after Norrish Avenue incident early March 10

A 42-year-old man was injured in a targeted home invasion on Norrish Avenue in Chilliwack in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Chilliwack RCMP responded to a report of the injured man who had been transported to Chilliwack General Hospital on March 10 at approximately 1 a.m.

RCMP investigators quickly connected the injured man to an earlier home invasion at a residence in the 46000-block of Norrish Avenue.

Late in the morning of March 11, Chilliwack Serious Crime Unit (SCU) officers supported by the Chilliwack General Investigation Support Team (GIST), Lower Mainland District Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS), and general duty officers executed a search warrant at the Norrish Avenue address, according to a Chilliwack RCMP press release.

Evidence associating the occurrence to the address was seized by police during the search.

“Chilliwack RCMP investigators are in the early evidence gathering stage of their investigation and do not believe the incident was a random act,” said Cpl. Mike Rail spokesperson for the RCMP’s Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
