An Alberta man faces drug trafficking criminal charges after being pulled over for speeding on Highway 1 this week.

A Mountie with Fraser Valley Traffic Services pulled over a vehicle on April 4 on Highway 1 for speeding, according to the RCMP. Upon dealing with the driver, the officer noted alleged indications of drug trafficking.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed approximately 27,500 tables suspected to be opiates.
