Chilliwack activist DJ Pohl will be running in the next federal election for the NDP in Chilliwack-Hope.

Pohl is a “community leader and lifelong advocate for justice, fairness, and equality” with a “bold voice,” committed to making life “more affordable for everyday people,” according to her online bio.

“DJ is ready to fight for people in Chilliwack-Hope as the Member of Parliament.”

On Thursday, Aug. 5, she hosted a “Meet the Candidate” event over Zoom.

More than $10,000 was raised, demonstrating what she called the “enthusiastic excitement” people are feeling.

“I am honoured to be able to represent the people of Chilliwack—Hope. There is a lot I want to do to help people in my community if I get the chance,” said Pohl “I am especially focused on climate change and affordability for everyday people.”

Pohl has been a resident of Chilliwack for more than 30 years and is involved in communities across the Fraser Valley.

Issues from climate change, criminal justice, and democracy, she has experience “speaking truth to power” having effected change locally, provincially, nationally, and internationally,” the candidate’s bio states.
