An evacuation order has been issued for a property in Dogwood Valley, off Highway 1 outside of Hope.
The order is for 27111 Baker Road, which is in the Fraser Valley Regional District.
“An evacuation order has been issued by Fraser Valley Regional District due to immediate danger to life safety and property because of the atmospheric river event and heavy rainfall causing slope failure and debris flow,” the order states. “Due to slope failure and debris flow and the forecasted weather event, the FVRD is issuing the following evacuation order.”
The order was issued at 11:50 a.m. on Dec. 10.
The property has been evacuated for flood risk before, along with surrounding properties. There is a small lake above the community, and a creek that runs off from the mountains above.
