Free showers now available for those stranded in Hope

The Hope Recreation Centre is now open for showers for the people stranded in Hope.

The centre is operated by the Fraser Valley Regional District, and is located at 1005 – 6th Avenue.

The centre is only for showers, and people are reminded to bring a towel. The centre will remain open until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and reopens at 8:30 a.m.

The information was shared on the District of Hope Facebook page. Earlier in the day, they put out a call for volunteer hosts to allow people to come into their homes for a shower. Some people have paid as much as $17 for one hot shower at a local truck stop.
