The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) issued an evacuation order for five more residential properties along Chilliwack Lake Road Wednesday afternoon.
“An evacuation order has been issued by the FVRD due to immediate danger to life and property caused by high flows and bank erosion in the Chilliwack River associated with atmospheric river events and heavy rainfall,” the notice read.
The order was issued at 12:45 p.m. on Dec. 1.
The evacuation order is for the following five properties in FVRD Area E on Chilliwack Lake Road: 47501, 47533, 47553, 47840 and 48080 Chilliwack Lake Rd.
Significant bank erosion from the Chilliwack River is affecting Chilliwack Lake Road and properties near Edwards Road, FVRD said.
