The Hope Arts Gallery hosts Retrospective 14, a show dedicated to celebrating the talent of students and teachers of the Hope Art Machine.
From March 1 until March 26, the public will have a chance to view these artists’ works which will be displayed in the newly renovated Back Room Gallery.
“To allow the public to become more familiar with our members, we have created unique areas in the gallery for each artist to show their work,” said the Arts Gallery in a press release. “An artist’s biography included with each display will also give more insight into the artist and what motivates them.”
In addition to the show, for the first time in several years, the gallery is also inviting participants as well as the general public to an evening celebration on Mar. 2, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Those attending will be able to talk with the artists and get their thoughts and process behind the displayed work.
The gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11am-3 pm and admission is free.
Those interested in exploring various art mediums — such as sculpture, photography, card marking, beading, water colour or acrylics, etc., — can check out the classes available at the Art Machine’s two studios (Visual Arts Studio A and Pottery Studio B). A ten time pass is $90 with classes around two hours and all materials, aside from clay, included in the fee.
