Hope RCMP are looking for the driver of a vehicle involved in an alleged hit and run with a cyclist.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. on July 2.

Three youths were riding bikes near the 6th Avenue and Kawkawa Lake Road intersection when one of them was hit. The youth was taken to hospital with what police described as minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and spoke to the youth, but before police arrived that person had left in an older model pickup truck described as green with a different coloured tailgate.

Police are knocking on doors in the area looking for video. If anyone was in the area during the afternoon/evening of July 2 and has dashcam footage, they’re asked to phone Cst. Sahil Bansi at the Hope RCMP detachment.

The phone number is 604-869-7750, or dial Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
