Hope rescuers help person in medical distress and injured hiker Saturday

The two calls to Hope Volunteer Search and Rescue came in within minutes of each other July 7

Hope Volunteer Search and Rescue received two calls for assistance within 15 minutes of each other just before noon July 7.

Rescuers first assisted the BC Ambulance Service with a person in medical distress up the Coquihalla, then an injured hiker outside of Boston Bar.

The second rescue, of the injured hiker, involved Chilliwack Search and Rescue and Valley Helicopters. The hiker was located near Mehatl Creek in the Nahatlach Valley, rescuers safely extracted the patient, search and rescue manager Mario Levesque confirmed.
