Hope’s polling stations seeing steady voters arriving

No lineups yet, say Elections Canada workers, following busy early voting days

There was a steady stream of voters moving through one of Hope’s polling station late this morning.

There were no line ups just before lunch, but the voters moved steadily through the Hope Legion.

“We get you through very quickly,” said one of the polling station workers.

Hope Legion was a busy station for early polling this time around, he confirmed, and that could explain the quick process this morning as well.

Very little is needed to vote. A driver’s licence is the preferable identification. But those without one can also bring in two pieces of ID.

Masks are required but they have masks on hand for those who don’t have one. A vaccine passport is not required to vote.

There is also a polling station at Silver Creek elementary. For your polling station location, check your voter registration card if you received one. If not, visit the Elections Canada website and type in your street address.

Voters in Hope are in the Chilliwack-Hope riding, while voters in Yale are in the large Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon riding.
