Kiosk project underway at Hunter Creek

Local partners announce rest area improvement initiative

Hope & District Chamber of Commerce (HDCC) is partnering with AdvantageHOPE on a kiosk improvement project at the Hunter Creek rest area.

This kiosk is one of several major welcoming points, which includes highway signage (the current state of disrepair was the subject of a recent letter to the editor in The Hope Standard), that the Chamber is currently working towards upgrading. Under the new agreement, the Hunter Creek kiosk will receive much needed improvements including repairs, refreshed signage, and ongoing maintenance.

“Our organizations will ensure that a great impression is made and valuable information is provided to the many people who stop there,” said HDCC president Stephen Young. “The intention is to attract more visitors beyond the rest area and into our member communities, whether on their current trip, or another.”

AdvantageHOPE will focus on the design, development, and project management, while HDCC provides up front funding to repair and upgrade the kiosk. HDCC’s investment will be recouped through advertising sales, which will be handled by AdvantageHOPE. Profits, if any are generated, will be split between the organizations.

The Hunter Creek kiosk adds to AdvantageHOPE’s advertising options, which already includes the hopebc.ca website, visitor centre racking, kiosks and digital media screen, and trailhead kiosks.

Advertisers at Hunter Creek will be highlighted on a related kiosk at the Hope Visitor Centre, resulting in two high-exposure, 24-7 promotion opportunities. HDCC members in good standing will receive a 10 per cent discount on all advertising with AdvantageHOPE.
