Police have confirmed a Yale man died last week after being hit by a train.
According to Upper Fraser Valley RCMP spokesperson Mike Rail, the fatality happened around 7 p.m. on Jan. 18.
“Hope RCMP responded to a report a pedestrian collided with a train at the railway crossing on Victoria Street and Douglas Street in Yale, B.C.,” Rail confirmed. “On scene, officers located a deceased 74-year-old man from Yale, believed to have been beside the track.”
Hope RCMP continue their investigation into the collision while BC Coroners Service investigates the cause of death.
