A fire was quickly extinguished at a Hope church on Saturday evening.

The Hope Fire Department got a call at about 6:30 p.m. that there was a small rubbish fire at the neighbouring church. When crews arrived, they found a smouldering fire that another neighbour had wet down with some water.

They finished putting the fire completely out and did a search of the building to ensure no other areas were burning. The damage to the exterior of the church was minimal, and the incident remains under investigation by RCMP and the Hope Fire Department.
