A power outage affected 1,040 customers in Hope Tuesday afternoon.

The outage began at 1:35 p.m. and BC Hydro sent a crew out to assess the situation. Power was restored about three hours later.

The affected area was Silver Creek to Ruby Creek on the south side of the Fraser River, but not downtown Hope.

No cause of the outage was listed on the BC Hydro website as of 4:45 p.m.

Environment Canada was reporting wind conditions this afternoon in Hope to include gusts up to 50 km/hr, along with expected thunderstorms.

There was also a tree down across hydro lines further east in Manning Park to Eastgate, causing an outage to 157 customers in that area. A crew was dispatched.
