Second trailer fire to happen over two months

Another RV fire made for a busy Valentine’s Day eve for Hope firefighters.

Hope Fire Department responded to a report of a blaze, on Monday evening (Feb. 13), on Highway 3. Nine firefighters arrived on scene to find a “fully involved RV trailer,” located off the eastbound land near exit 173, on fire. No injuries were reported.

“The RV had several propane cylinders around the trailer that were also involved and pressure release valves were active as crews worked to extinguish the blaze,” said Hope Fire Chief Thomas Cameron in an email to the Standard. “The cause of the fire is still under investigation.”

This is the second RV, this year, to catch on fire near Hope. On Jan. 9, early in the morning, human remains were found after a mobile trailer on Laidlaw Road caught on fire.
