Two long-term care homes in Chilliwack have had their COVID-19 outbreaks declared over.

Sunset Manor and Valleyhaven Care Home both had recent outbreaks, with two staff members at each location testing positive for the novel coronavirus.

The Sunset Manor outbreak was reported on Nov. 20 and the Valleyhaven outbreak was reported on Nov. 24.

There is also currently an outbreak at a third home.

Two staff members at Bradley Centre, a long-term care facility on Menholm Road, tested positive for the virus, Fraser Health announced on Dec. 4.

Fraser Health said in a release on Nov. 24, that it is “critically important” for people living in the Fraser Health region to use the COVID-19 assessment tool and get tested as soon as you have COVID-19-like symptoms, even mild ones.

“Please don’t wait,” their release said.

Long-term care facility outbreaks are announced daily by the Public Health Officer through the COVID-19 briefings.
