Upcoming road closures may cause delays for locals

Floods Road and Third Avenue to be closed at the end of May

Locals might need to plan some detours thanks to two upcoming road closures within the Hope.

In a Facebook post by the District of Hope, two full road closures will be taking place at Floods Road and Third Avenue within the next few days. Floods Road will be closed from May 29 to May 30, and Third Avenue will be closed from May 31 to June 1.

“Canadian National Railway Company (CN) identifies level crossings across its network,” the District said via Facebook. “This require rehabilitation to maintain a smooth and continuous crossing surface that is adequate for road users and for continued safe railway operations.”

Each closure is expected to be around 36 hours to 48 hours in length. CN said they will provide “full traffic control and detour planning.”
