Allen Porter, age 79, passed away on May 9th at Fraser Canyon Hospital in Hope. He was born and raised in Hoquiam, Washington to parents Bryden and Amelia Porter. Allen graduated from Washington State University in music education in 1964.
During his career, Allen held teaching positions in Ketchikan, Alaska; Prince George and Mackenzie, BC before moving to Hope in the 1970's. Allen gave 24 years of dedicated service to the students of the Fraser-Cascade School District.
He sincerely liked children, enjoying their antics and mischievousness and they in turn appreciated his kindness
Allen is survived by his sister, Barbara and cousins in Washington and Connecticut. He was so grateful to have the long-term friendship with Kathie and Dan Cardinal, who looked after Allen with affection through the years.
