August 10, 1935 - August 18, 2022
Dale Olsen was born in Cabri, Sask. on August 10, 1935 and passed away at Jackson Manor in Aldergrove, BC on August 18, 2022. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Kermit and Elenor and wife Marjorie.
Dale is survived by his loving partner, Arlene Wyenberg, son Kevin (Muriel), daughter Karen (Del Iggulden), son Bradley (Janice), daughter Susan (Al Hathaway), brother Keith (Ruth) and sister Gloria Baarts. The proud grandfather of 9 and great granddad to 10, plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dale had a most curious mind, a "no exit/entrance" sign was met with "let's see what is going on" and a speed/road sign "was just a suggestion!!"
An entrepreneur at heart, from owning and operating a sawmill on Birch Island near Clearwater as well as owning and operating a hardware store (Olsen Hardware at 148th & Fraser). He bought and sold real estate and was in construction. He and Marge moved to Merritt in the 80's while he worked on the Coquihalla. Dales' last venture was in shipping containers (Global Container Corp & Insta Space Storage). Dale was also the founding president of the BC Bus Nuts Chapter of FMCA, #34436 and enjoyed many years of "snow birding". Dale's word was his bond, he was a friend to many and he brought much joy into our lives.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Remembrances may be made to the charity of your choice.
