Diana Rose LaBar

June 14, 1933 - July 4, 2019
Rose LaBar passed away on July 4, 2019 at Fraser Canyon Hospital. Rose was born on June 14, 1933 in St. Walburg, SK. She was the youngest of five children. She married the love of her life Clarence LaBar on Dec. 18, 1951, and they moved to Hope shortly after. They raised three children: David, Marina and Glen. Rose worked for Canyon Cable, McConnell Voelkl, Hope Hospital, and finished her working days at BC Hydro, retiring in 1993. She was a lifelong member of the Anglican Church, and their Women's Auxiliary, she sang in the Ladies Choir, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years. She was an avid curler, golfer and bridge player. Rose's life revolved around her family, friends and faith. She always grew a wonderful garden, and her culinary skills were second to none. She and Clarence loved to travel to many places including Cuba, Mexico, Hawaii, England and the Maritimes. On Nov. 3, 2018, she received the Anglican Church Order of the Diocese for her 67 years of service to the Church, an accomplishment she was very proud of. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence and her sisters Daisy, Cynthia, Isobel and brother, Robert.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: David (Elaine), Marina, and Glen (Rosalinda); grandchildren: Jennifer (Greg), Jonathan (Amanda) and Jessica; great-grandchildren: Hayley and Megan; and her brother-in-law George Karst.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Riverside Manor and the nursing staff at Fraser Canyon Hospital for their care. As well as a special thanks to Bev Kreller for her friendship and loving care.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Anglican Church, on Saturday July 13, 2019, at 11 am with a luncheon to follow in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anglican Church Women's ACW.
