Reverend Dianne Astle, of Hope, BC, passed away on March 30, 2023 at the age of 72, after battling cancer for two years.
Dianne was born in 1950 in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. She became a minister with the United Church of Canada later in life and served pastoral charges in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. Engaging in ministry was one of her many passions.
Dianne had a life-long passion for fishing, and some of her fondest memories were the fishing trips she took with her siblings. Later in life, Dianne discovered a passion for pottery and writing. She went on to author five books, including the SixWorlds middle grade fantasy series.
Dianne was predeceased by mother Viola Rabinovitz, father Joseph Broughton, and brothers Eddie and John Broughton. She is survived by husband Doug Astle, daughters Christine Astle and Andrea Moffatt (Todd), son Jesse Astle, and granddaughter Allie Moffatt. She is also survived by sister Janice Allison (Stan), brothers Darrell Broughton and Allan Broughton (Kirsten), step-father Saul Rabinovitz, and several nieces and nephews.
She will be dearly missed, and theworldwas left a better place for having her in it.

A Celebration of Life will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope United Church, BC Cancer Foundation, the Hope Art Gallery, or a charity of your choice.
