Gaylynn Monkman passed away in Yale, B.C. on February 6, 2024.
Gaylynn was an active and involved member of her community. She was a strong voice on the executive of the Yale and District Ratepayers Association. She helped deliver food hampers to seniors, tended the gardens at the Community Centre, and played a vital role in the planning and preparation of community meals.
Gaylynn shone most brightly as the manager of the Yale and District Thrift Store. She promoted the Thrift Store and made it a profitable success and, perhaps more importantly, made it a place that locals and visitors alike enjoyed coming to and spending time.
With her welcoming smile, her infectious laugh, and her entertaining stories, Gaylynn made all who entered feel welcomed and important. The Thrift Store became a social place where locals gathered.
Gaylynn is sadly missed by all who knew her.
