Mr. Gerald Henry Besse of Hope, B.C. passed away peacefully at the Fraser Canyon Hospital on Friday, December 11, 2009 at the age of 80 years. Gerry was born and raised in Biggar District SK.


Family was most important to Gerry; Vi, and their children, grandchildren, andgreat grandchildren. Next to family, driving was one of the loves of his life; there wasn’t an employee at a weigh scale that he stopped at that didn’t know him. He enjoyed fishing and

hunting with his sons. Gerry had numerous friends from all walks of life - you couldn’t go anywhere without Gerry

meeting someone he knew. Violet and Gerry loved their

“Motorhome Years” they put a lot of miles on, enjoying the company of their friends and families.


Gerry was both a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles.


Gerry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Violet; daughter Sharon (Ross) and their children Jessica, Dustin, and Kelsey; Sons; Larry (Pat) and their children Trevor (Vickie) and Jason (Crissy); Gary (Cathy) and their daughter Leann and Gary’s children Desiree, Shelley, Derek, and Tracy; Doug (Dawn) and their children Jeremy and Renee; Curtis (Shelley); brothers; Bud (Shirley), Larry (Rhoda); sister Bette Stevenson; and his numerous grandchildren, great grand-

children, nieces and nephews. He was predeased by his son Donald (Lila and their children Adrian, Adam, and Anthony); parents Burton and Helen Besse; and sisters, Muriel Laird, Marie Besse, and Doris Besse.


Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Gerry’s memory may be made to the Fraser Canyon Hospice

Society,(directed to the HOSPICE REST AREA) 1275 7th Ave Hope, BC V0X 1L4.


No service was requested by Gerry. Gerry’s cremated remains will be laid to rest in the Royal Canadian Legion Cemetery at a family service.


The family would like to thank Dr. Bradley, Dr. Murakami, and all the physicians and nursing staff at the Fraser Canyon Hospital for their care during Gerry’s stay. Also special thanks to Fraser Morgan for his kindness and

companionship.
