It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Hans Pietsch on August 12th.
Hans was 86 years old and born in Germany where he learned to be an electro mechanic.
He immigrated to Canada in 1961 and worked at the Sherritt Gordon mine in Lynn Lake Manitoba as an electrician.
In 1969 he moved to British Columbia and worked for various mines. He move to Hope and has lived here for 51 years. Hans worked for Giant Mascot Mines, Hells Gate and at B.C Forest Products Boston Bar as an Electrician.
He loved hunting, fishing and racing. He spent many years building and racing cars at Westwood Raceway in Vancouver and the USA. He belonged to the Eagles club for many years.
He leaves behind family members: wife Helga, sons Udo and Ralph, grand daughters Jennifer and Krystal, many family members and friends in Germany, BC, Alberta and USA.
