Irene LAFRANCE

Irene Lafrance (nee Williams) passed away peacefully in the Vernon Jubilee hospital on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at the age or 78, after having lived courageously with Parkinson's disease and osteoporosis. She was predeceased by husband, Lindy and her sister, Hazel.

Many wonderful memories will be cherished by her brother, Jim, sons Lionel (Lori nee Clausen), Greg (Annette) and her daughter Linda (Don) James, four grandchildren, Heather, Chelsea, Todd, Clayton and many other friends and relatives. Irene was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1926. She lived in Vernon for the past 28 years. Before moving to Vernon, Irene owned and operated the Skagit Motel in Hope for 14 years. She raised her children there and was an active member of the Boy Scouts. Irene enjoyed golf, bowling and outdoor activities. Following cremation, she will be laid to rest beside her husband during a private burial in Hope Legion Cemetery. A Celebration of Life was held at the Schubert Centre in Vernon on Saturday, March 5, 2005 from 2 - 4 p.m.
