SMITH, Kenneth Borden

1933 – 2006

Ken, a long time resident of Hope passed away after a courageous two year battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Bob and Gladys, brother Leonard, grandchildren Nicole and Brian and sidekick BJ. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 42 years Doreen (High), sons Rob (Sheila) and Ron (Arnice), sidekick Buddy, grandchildren Cody and Rachel, brother-in-law Bob (Margaret) High, sister-in-law Josephine Smith, nephews Wayne (Linda) Smith, Darren (Heather) High, Jeffrey (Kristina) Smith, Dusty Smith, Tyson Voth, Mitchell Metcalfe, Carson and Garrett High, nieces Jackie (Ernie) Voth, Susan Smith, Laura (Grant)Metcalfe, Madison Metcalfe, Camella (Pat) Cox, Cristie Voth, numerous great nieces and nephews and many friends. Ken came to Hope in 1934 from Saskatchewan and spent the rest of his life in Hope. He enjoyed his family, friends, work, hunting, fishing, going to the cabin, his old cars and his dogs. The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Kehler and all of the doctors, nurses and staff at Fraser Canyon Hospital for their care and support. A Memorial Service will be held at Mountainside Funeral Chapel on Saturday, April 01, 2006 @ 1:30 p.m. with a Reception to be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall, 386 Fort Street, Hope, B.C., following the Interment. No flowers by request. Donations can be made to Fraser Canyon Hospital Auxiliary. Mountainside Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
