April 15, 1935 - October 12, 2019
Our beautiful Mumma passed away peacefully October 12 at 2:38 pm. She was fearless and peaceful.
Mumma was free-spirited and could see the joy in any situation. She adored her children, David and Deborah. We both thank her for making us listen to our Pastor in church and learn our Bible memory verses. She worked very hard for most of her life retiring at 65. She always remained close to her family in Hope, BC. She had a flare for fashion, style and life like nobody else.
She was born and raised in Hope, BC. She is the grandmother of eight grandchildren and great grandmother of ten great grandchildren. She was so thrilled each time to become a grandma and great grandma.
She is survived by her children David Earle Norris and Deborah Anne Norris-Michalski, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Beverly Barber, her brother Donald Barber and many nieces and nephews. We make special mention of her nephew David Alaric and his wife Chief Rhoda Peters for their crucial love and support, far above and beyond to our family during this difficult time of loss.
She is pre-deceased by her mother Anne Eliza Parnaby-Barber, her father Clifford (Slim) Barber, her brother Kia-ra (Bucksy) Martin, her sister and brother-in-law Jean Mildred and Claire Franklin Alaric, her sister and brother-in-law Phyllis (Sally) and Len Vernon, her nephews Neil Martin, Kia-ra (Bing) Alaric and Earl Alaric, niece Nola Alaric, and sister-in-law Marie Pulver Barber.
Marlene's celebration of life will be held at The Royal Canadian Legion Hall, 344 Fort St, Hope, BC, on November 12, 2019 at 12 noon.
