In loving memory ~

Raymond Eugene Baker passed away in his sleep at age sixty-four while residing at 'Eden Place' care home in Chilliwack BC.

He lived in Hope BC proper most of his early years. In 1963 the family built a house in Dogwood Valley. Raymond attended grade one at Silver Creek school and then went to Yale Elementary from grade two until grade six. He was a member of the Yale Junior Forest Wardens and walked from Yale to Hope during one of their fundraiser 'Walkathons'. He then went to CE Barry school before moving to Terrace for a couple of years. At about age nineteen he went to work as a trackman for CP Rail and worked for them for many years. Many people knew Raymond as 'Rambo' as he wore a vest and camo pants everywhere he went.

Ray liked to drive anywhere anytime to have a coffee and a chat with friends along the way. Although he could be found at the Kan Yon in Hope, he could also be found as far away as Cache Creek and Ashcroft.

Left to miss him are: six grandchildren and one great grandson, mother Sharon Blythe - Hope BC, father & stepmother Len & Maureen Baker - Agassiz BC, sister Kim Woodd & hubby Gord - Terrace BC, sister Leona Baker - Hope BC, brother Darcy 'Kirk' Baker & wife Sue - Hope BC, his first wife Cathy - Saskatchewan and their children Kimberly Wollis - Swift Current SK, Charlene Baker - Ashcroft BC, Eugene Baker Alberta. Also by his second wife, Joelle Baker - Chilliwack BC and their daughter Jo-lene (Stuart) - Chilliwack, BC.
