HAMBLY, Sydney (Syd) Oct 12, 1950 - Jan 2, 2014. After a courageous battle with cancer, Syd passed away in the hospice wing of the Hope Hospital with his wife and family by his side. He was born in Princeton, B.C. and raised in Hedley, B.C. His family moved to Boston Bar in 1962, where he met his wife Babs and they raised their two children. He was predeceased by his father Syd Sr and mother Ruby Hambly. He will be sorely missed by his loving wife Babs, daughter Sharon (Matt) Pronk and son Daniel (Yvonne) Hambly. Grandchildren: Tyler and Brett Pronk, Jadeanna, Dryden, Hannah and Ashtyn Hambly and brother Rick (Robie) Hambly. He enjoyed all the time spent with his wife tending the lawns/gardens at the RCMP Detachment and Canada Post locations, and the many hours cutting, collecting and storing firewood for the season (the higher the row the better). He loved bowling and took pride in mentoring the youth bowlers. Most importantly was the love he had for his family. A Celebration of Life will be held at Boston Bar Community Hall on Saturday January 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fraser Canyon Hospice Society. Special thanks to Lorraine and staff of Home Health for your guidance and compassion through this difficult time, also to Dr. Switzer and the outstanding nurses at Hope Hospital.
