Twilight and evening bell,

And after that, the dark!

And may there be no sadness of farewell,

When I embark...

-ALFRED, LORD TENNYSON

Mr. William John Edward (Bill) LeNeve, of Hope, BC, Canada, born on August 17, 1929 in New Westminster, BC, Canada, passed away at age 88 on October 29, 2017.

His career spanned four decades in the Heavy Construction industry, around the world, until retiring in 1981.

William was the loving husband of the late Susan Elizabeth, who passed in 1998. He is survived by his sons, Eric and Bob; daughter, Judy; grandchildren, Amanda, Autumn (Jamie Powell), Barrett, Perri-Lynn, and Dyson; and great-grandchildren, Tessa Rose (Powell) and Emmett William (Powell).

He had been a member of the Fraser Hope Hospital Auxiliary, the Sechelt Hospital Auxiliary, and the Ear Falls Lions Club. He also liked to read poetry and stories to shut-ins in hospitals and homes.

Bill was a skillful camper and a knowledgeable fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed sharing those skills with family and friends. He also is remembered for his sauces and condiments that he enjoyed preserving and sharing in his retirement years. His favourite places included Davis Bay, the Fraser Canyon and BC dry-belt, and of course, the Coquihalla River and town of Hope, where he was raised.

In lieu of flowers or donations, Bill wanted to encourage people to celebrate spring and those around them.

Friends and family members may attend the graveside service on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. at Seaview Cemetery, Gibsons BC.
